Set in Corent, amongst the dramatic and rugged countryside of the Auvergne region, this delightful house features exquisite views of the country and dormant volcanoes. The area is known for its vast medieval history, and several picturesque villages are only a few kilometres away.
When you are done exploring, take a dip in the private swimming pool or lounge comfortably in the poolside hammock swing. Bright and comfortable furnishings combine with mod cons such as a washing machine and dryer, a flat-screen TV with a DVD/Blu-ray player and WiFi Internet to ensure your ease and enjoyment.
All of your culinary needs can be met in the open kitchen, boasting all standard appliances plus a dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. You may prefer to BBQ on the furnished terrace and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the serene countryside.
Get a great night’s sleep in one of the 2 bedrooms, one boasting a double and 2 single beds, and the other a double bed. There’s a bathroom with a tub and shower and a separate WC.
Please bring your own towels and linen. The pool measures 7 x 3 metres, is protected by a door and is available in spring and summer.
There is public parking nearby, smoking is permitted outside only and pets are welcome.
The Puy-de-Dome department is known for its picturesque villages, amazing scenery and dramatic volcanoes, and the area around the village of Corent is the ideal place to explore it all. Activities on offer near the house include horse riding, fishing, tennis, cycling and golf (at Golf des Volcans or Bruyères des Moines, within 26km).
One of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France,” Saint-Saturnin, is just 8km away and boasts historic ramparts and a grand castle. A few kilometres further, Billon is also worth a visit, and the department capital of Clermont-Ferrand is just 17km away. Its highlights include the famed “black cathedral”, an imposing gothic monument made of lava stone, an impressive basilica, a lovely opera house and great shopping.
The local gastronomy features fattened pigs and potatoes along with the “best cheese in the world”, Saint-Nectair. The Clermont specialty is candied fruit, and who can resist a fine Saint-Pourcain wine? Try some of everything as bars, restaurants and a supermarket within 3km of the house.
