Full property description
Combining rustic exposed woodwork with modern comforts, this two-bedroom apartment in the Spanish coastal town of Ruiloba offers a relaxing retreat from the crazed hustle of more tourist-oriented seaside cities.
The apartment is centrally heated for year-round comfort, and a washing machine as well as an ironing table/iron are provided for your convenience. Modern amenities such as a microwave and coffee machine are available in the well-equipped kitchen, along with plenty of counter space for fixing up your favourite dishes and reproducing the colourful local flavour.
The two bedrooms share a cheerfully decorated bathroom with a walk-in shower and a WC. One bedroom holds a double bed, and the other two singles, each with attractive wood detailing and a spectacular view of the rolling Spanish countryside.
You’ll be able to unwind in the evenings on the comfortable sofa, watching the local shows on the TV, or watching the sun set over the surrounding hills from the terrace; the view of land and sea is truly stunning.
Cleaning, linen and towels are included in the rental price.
Private parking is available on site. Smoking is allowed, but outside only, and pets are not welcome.
The peaceful village of Ruiloba shares most of its attractions with its sister tourist town of Comillas, just over a kilometre away. There you will find a beach supervised by the Red Cross, the Playa de Comillas, which is a favourite spot of young and old alike thanks to its beautiful golden sands and popular boardwalk. Golfers can tee off at the Santa Marina, 5km away, and there is no shortage of outdoor activities along the coastline.
The town centre, or Centro de Comillas, offers the visitor a host of local cuisine and bars for sampling Spanish flavour, and you will find the seafood dishes most popular, as Comillas is steeped in seafaring tradition. Local supermarkets are also available here, while you will find more commercial outlet shopping in the city centre as well.
Comillas holds many monuments and intriguing architectural landmarks, the most recognizable of which is the Capricho de Gaudi, an unfinished mansion in Modernist and Oriental styles, built by architect Catalan Antoni Gaudi in 1883. And while strolling about the town, be sure to note the various interesting churches and chapels, as Comillas has a rich cultural history.
